A NOT SO BOLLYWOOD MEET CUTE BY MIYA MALAI

Synopsis

Katrina Shah just wants out of the fame game, away from her high-profile family’s drama. But dodging the spotlight? Tough luck. Especially when she collides with Hollywood’s golden boy, Evan Kristof.

Her heart doesn’t seem to have received the memo to steer clear of him. Evan’s used to the spotlight, the parties, the glitz. Yet, he’s craving a break, some peace. Then he meets Katrina, and suddenly, tranquility’s the last thing on his mind.

As they both try to escape their pasts, sparks fly between the girl who wants anonymity and the movie star. But can they navigate crazy families, an over-the-top wedding, and their undeniable chemistry without getting burned? Their fling might just turn into something much bigger than they bargained for.

Rating: 3 out of 5.

Review

I was given this book as a gift from the author and BookSirens. My opinions and thoughts of the book are mine alone.

There are some things about this book that I loved. I don’t know about Indian culture so this book gave a real insight to that. I loved that the characters felt real and every person was meant to be there. Except the chemistry, the characters were good. The feel of Bollywood, as someone who knows really little about it, was interesting and I liked that I know more after reading the book.

The characters lacked some feelings with each other. I am someone who loves visuals. So, when an author just tells me something, it is hard to picture what they mean. My head was whipped into so many directions because I was just trying my best to keep up. Part of me thinks this book should be broken into multiple parts with more detail rather than shove it all in one book. Sadly, it was hard for me to keep up.

My Rating: I rate this book 3 out of 5 stars. I felt like it was a mixture of not enough and too much all at the same time. The book was a lovely read. I loved the different references to a culture I am unfamiliar with, which made me like the book a lot. I know since I don’t have a whole lot of information, I needed the book to help me out. I was able to keep up with what was going on. Overall, I encourage you to give this book a try. You never know what may come from it.
