Review
I was lucky enough to receive this book from the author. I hope the prospective reader will read this review fully before making any prejudgments on the book. I will give the book my thoughts. These thoughts are completely my own and not swayed in any way by anyone else’s reviews or opinions.
I was hoping to read and write this review during the holiday season. Of course, life gets in the way. I was paused on the writing process and decided to scrap what I had and redo the review. I read the book again and I knew I loved it already, but I wasn’t expecting to love it more the second time. This is a book I know I will have no issues reading again.
I want to take the time to talk about character development. This is important to me because I love to feel the rise and fall of each character. This book shows determination and how that can be a wonderful motivator for someone, but also the downside is when he decided to join a partnership with Marley. There was a highlight on choices. I love that we can watch the downgrade of Scrooge from who he was to who he became.
My mom’s favorite Christmas story is A Christmas Carol. I recommend this book to her as a backstory for Scrooge. I can tell that the author read and really dissected Dickens’ story and gave a heart to Scrooge. I love the original novel and I love this one. I feel like this book is written like a song. The flow of the book is beautiful and I love that.
My Rating: My rating of this book is 5 out of 5 stars. I love how this book was written and I love the characters. I have read the book twice already and I will be reading it again. I believe people of all ages know of Ebenezer Scrooge. He is one of the most recognizable characters in history. So, when you get to read of a time of happiness, it is truly amazing. I recommend any Scrooge or Dickens lovers to take a chance on reading about a happier time for Ebenezer Scrooge.
